With the release of WordPress 2.7 looming ever closer (November 2008) it is high time that Theme Authors  – and Bloggers for that matter, started to turn their attention to the various Theme compatibility issues that will undoubtably arise. The most important changes will be those made in the “Core” handling of Comments.

This article here at ottodestruct is a good place to begin for those who wish to start working on theme compatibility with WordPress 2.7.

Of course in order to test this stuff out you will need to set up a wordpress 2.7 installation – find out more by subscribing to the wp-testers mailing list and downloading and installing the “Nightly” builds – don´t forget though this is a Development Version and should NOT be used for a “Live” blog. we are testing our stuff over at our sandbox
